Our 4-mm polymeric screed is hard-wearing and durable, designed to produce a non-shrink, weather-resistant finish. It provides high performance at reduced thicknesses on walkways, walls, factory floors, etc.
When preparing the surface for application, ensure the substrate has been washed off and is free of any dust or objects and chemicals that might cause non-adhesion to the substrate. In addition, be sure the substrate has adequately dried before applying the product.
The 4-mm polymeric screed is pre-packaged in a 25-litre bucket of dry mix and a 2.5-litre of pre-mixed wet mix. While all additives in the dry mix content are pre-mixed, we recommend it is turned over on-site.
Gradually add the dry mix to the wet mix while continuously turning the combination over, adding another 5 litres of water to achieve a comfortable working mixture. Once the substrate is prepared as above, cover all surrounding and non-sprayable areas with masking tape to avoid damage or overspill.
Lay the 4-mm polymeric screed mixture to the prepared area and spread it out with a steel trowel to the approximate thickness required. Allow 35 – 40 minutes to dry before floating by hand with a plastic float. Once the floating has been completed, the area needs to cure. The product is touch dry after one to two hours at 25⁰C and fully cured at the same temperature after seven days.
4-mm polymeric screed comes in a cement grey finish. However, a floor coat can be applied afterwards if you desire another colour.
To achieve a 4-mm polymeric screed thickness, one kit covers 3.75 m².
Screed tools should be cleaned with water immediately after use since it will be very difficult to clean once the mixture has dried.
